About Us

BAISMAG is a student magazine published by the students of the BA International Studies at Leiden University. The project was started in October 2013 by a small team of creative writers and has since flourished into a widely-read student publication.

COVID 19 Update: We have paused publishing paper magazines, but we’ll be continuing publishing articles online. We’re hoping to print paper magazines when in-person classes begin.

Do current events make you want to vent some opinionated steam? Have you ever wanted to ask that teacher some more critical questions? Got short stories, poetry, or illustrations but they’re left at the back of a drawer? Then BAISMAG is the place for you! We’re the official student magazine of International Studies. We’re always on the lookout for new voices to share, so feel free to submit your work. We accept submissions via email or via our website. BAISmag publishes online articles on a biweekly basis (sometimes weekly!) and we’re looking to print paper magazines when in-person classes begin.

Hello everyone! I’m so excited to be able to share stories and artwork via this amazing platform this year. BAISmag allowed me to find my voice and I hope it’ll help you explore and find your own.

Hello! I have been involved in BAISmag since I was a first-year at Leiden University and have been able to watch it grow and change over time. I look forward to the changes and contributions of our team and the student community can further bring to our campus magazine.
